Priyanka Chopra Losses Over 3 Million Followers Due To Her Stance On The Kashmir Issue

Priyanka Chopra was one of the most followed celebrities on Instagram. She has….or rather used to have 47 million plus people following her. Recently a video of her went viral where she was supporting her country India for war where as both the nuclear nations, Pakistan and India are in the brink of a war. Perhaps this is not something that any sane person would do, that too a UNICEF GOODWILL AMBASSADOR. Due to this people have started to unfollow her marking their protest against her remarks and stance against #KashmirIssue.

This Protest has resulted in her followers going down to 43.7 million. This means that in this short time she has lost 3.3 million followers.

What Happened?

A woman confronted Priyanka Chopra at a beauty event in Los Angeles, criticizing the Indian actress for a tweet she posted in February during a serious escalation of the conflict between India and Pakistan.

The tweet was as follows:

While Priyanka was taking questions at a BeautyCon, Ayesha Malik called the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador a hypocrite for “encouraging nuclear war against Pakistan”.

“So it was kind of hard hearing you talk about humanity, because as your neighbor, a Pakistani, I know you’re a bit of a hypocrite,” Ayesha said. “You tweeted on February 26, ‘Jai Hind #IndianArmedForces.'”

“You are a UNICEF ambassador for peace and you’re encouraging nuclear war against Pakistan. There’s no winner in this,” Ayesha said. “As a Pakistani, millions of people like me have supported you in your business of Bollywood and you wanted nuclear war.”
After this the microphone was forcefully taken away from her ending her statement.

Priyanka’s Response

“So, I have many, many friends from Pakistan and I am from India, and war is not something that I am really fond of but I am patriotic,” Chopra said. “So, I’m sorry if I hurt sentiments to people who do love me and have loved me, but I think that all of us have a sort of middle ground that we all have to walk, just like you probably do as well.”
“The way you came at me right now?” Chopra said. “Girl, don’t yell. We’re all here for love. Don’t yell. Don’t embarrass yourself. But we all walk that middle ground, but thank you for your enthusiasm and your question and your voice.”

Ayesha Malik later addressed the incident on Twitter.
“Hi, I’m the girl that ‘yelled’ at Priyanka Chopra,” she wrote. “It was hard listening to her say, ‘we should be neighbors and love each other’ โ€” swing that advice over to your PM. Both India and Pakistan were in danger. And instead she tweeted out in favor for nuclear war.”
“It took me back to when I couldn’t reach my family because of the blackouts and how scared/helpless I was,” Ayesha tweeted again. “She gaslit me and turned the narrative around on me being the ‘bad guy’ โ€” as a UN ambassador this was so irresponsible.”
